Between this Saturday and the Saturday after Thanksgiving, most of the dated events on Dennis Port's fall calendar are at one address: Pelham House Resort, 14 Sea Street. The outdoor venues that filled summer evenings have closed or are winding down. What's left is a short list of dates on the water, two end-of-season parties on the first weekend, and a Main Street bakery cafe that says it's open year-round. Put those on a map and the village's fall runs along one street, from the resort's Rooftop down to the newly rebuilt stairs at Sea Street Beach.
One address, most of the dates
Pelham House has five events on the calendar between now and the end of November. They range from a vendor market to a holiday buffet.
| Date | Event | Where | The details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sat., Oct. 10 | Oktoberfest | The Chip, 228 Lower County Road | 1 to 7 p.m., chef-attended Bavarian Grill, Schnitzel Haus and sweets stations; $35 adults, $14 children |
| Sun., Oct. 11 | Year-End Appreciation Party | The Sailing Cow Cafe, 170 Old Wharf Road | Marks the end of the season; check with the cafe for the time |
| Sun., Oct. 11 | Fall Market | Pelham House Resort, 14 Sea Street | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., vendor tables |
| Wed., Oct. 21 | Taste of Dennis 2026 | Pelham House Resort | 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., local restaurants and caterers, silent auction, live music |
| Wed., Nov. 25 | Dueling Pianos | Pelham House Resort | $45 plus tax, doors and welcome hour at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. |
| Thu., Nov. 26 | Thanksgiving Dinner | Pelham House Resort | Rooftop cocktail hour, then a buffet; $165 per adult, $85 per child ages 5 to 12 |
| Sat., Nov. 28 | Johnny Cash tribute | Pelham House Resort | General admission, doors at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m. |
Three of those dates fall in a single week of November. The Taste of Dennis is the one built around the whole town. The Dennis Chamber of Commerce listing describes food from local Dennis restaurants and caterers, silent auction items donated by local businesses, and a cash bar open on both floors of the resort. So it's a Wednesday night in Dennis Port when restaurants from all over town come to one room on Sea Street.
The Thanksgiving listing is the most specific. Pelham's events page describes a Rooftop cocktail hour with hand-rolled sushi and a raw bar boat, then a buffet in the Sea Level ballroom, with both rooms looking out over Nantucket Sound. The Dueling Pianos ticket includes a welcome hour with small bites, and the resort promotes the show as two entertainers playing everything from Billy Joel to Britney Spears.
Why the summer stages close at once
The fall calendar is short because so many of Dennis Port's summer venues are seasonal by design. Pelham House runs three restaurants, and its dining page lists two of them, Waves Sushi & Raw Bar and the Pool House, as open April through September. The Pool House is where live bands play all summer on the deck facing Nantucket Sound. The third, The Rooftop, is listed as open year-round for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. That's why the resort's November events are inside and upstairs. The building drops two of its three restaurants for the season, and the year-round one carries the rest.
On Main Street, The Backyard by Foley's at 645 Main St. is seasonal under its permit. According to Planning Board minutes, it opened July 3, 2026, as a seasonal outdoor venue. The town's Oct. 5 Planning Board agenda describes the special permit as allowing exterior portions of the property to be used as a seasonal outdoor beer garden with food trucks, acoustic live stage music, games, alcohol service and seating. J.J. Foley's is the family-owned Irish bar in Boston behind the venture. Business partner Michael Foley II told the Cape Cod Times in April that the goal was to be "a draw for Dennis Port."
Its first summer also drew noise complaints from neighbors, and the town is reviewing how the permit conditions worked in practice. The Times reported on Sept. 23 that the special permit limits performances to one or two acoustic musicians, with no percussion, horns or amplified music. Music is allowed from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. most days, or 8 p.m. on Sundays, weather permitting. An end-of-season review had been set for tonight, Oct. 5. The agenda notes that the applicant asked to continue it to Nov. 2, 2026, to finish an acoustical study and so its attorney can attend. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the Stone Hearing Room at Dennis Town Hall, 685 Route 134. Anyone following how Main Street's summer evenings will sound next year can attend in person or join on Zoom.
The Backyard's own website still says "NOW OPEN" and lists daily hours, but the page isn't dated. No closing date for 2026 has been published, so call ahead before planning a visit.
Two send-offs off Sea Street
The only two dated events this fall that aren't at Pelham House both fall on the first weekend, and both are about the season ending.
The Chip is Chapin's Fish & Chips Beach Bar on Lower County Road, a seafood restaurant and bar with live entertainment. Its Oktoberfest runs Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m. The Bavarian Grill, Schnitzel Haus and sweets stations will each be staffed by a chef. The Chip's website doesn't say whether it stays open through winter, so this weekend's event is the one sure date there.
On Sunday, The Sailing Cow Cafe at 170 Old Wharf Road holds its Year-End Appreciation Party. The Chamber listing says to check with the cafe for the exact time. The Fall Market at Pelham House runs the same day, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
After Sunday, nothing else on the record is scheduled until the Taste of Dennis on Oct. 21. Then the calendar skips to Thanksgiving week.
Daytime belongs to the other end of Sea Street
The beaches cover the days in between, and the rules there changed after Labor Day.
The Town of Dennis beach regulations ban dogs and other pets from public beaches, beach parking areas and unattended cars in those lots from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Labor Day has passed, so under the posted rule the south-side beaches with public lots are open to dogs again: Sea Street Beach, Glendon/Durling, Haigis, Inman Road and Raycroft. Active piping plover nests can still close parts of a beach, and that restriction is separate from the dog dates. The regulations document on the town site is labeled March 2022, so check with the town if you need the current rule.
Sea Street Beach also has new stairs. Town minutes from June report that the stair replacement there came in under budget, and that the leftover design money was moved to future beach stair work. The town hasn't reported any fall closures at the Dennis Port beaches. At nearby West Dennis Beach, the replacement bathhouse is still in design and permitting. Town minutes put the updated cost estimate in the October/November timeframe and bidding in February or March 2027, so no construction is planned there this fall.
A late-October Saturday can stay on one street. Walk the dog at Sea Street Beach, then have lunch up the road at The Rooftop, which stays open all year.
Main Street's year-round anchor
The other steady spot this fall is on Main Street. Buckie's Biscotti & Bakery Cafe at 681 Main St. says on its website that the Dennis Port cafe is open year-round. The posted hours are daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with breakfast and lunch served until 2 p.m., but the page isn't dated.
Buckie's added evening hours this summer with Cannoli Port, a takeout window for specialty cannoli and drinks. As the Cape Cod Times reported in August, it opened Thursdays through Sundays from 5 p.m., when the bakery is otherwise closed. The Cannoli Port page on the bakery's site lists the flavors and an online order link but no fall hours for the window. Check before you head over after dark. The morning hours at the cafe are the ones the bakery says run all year.
So the fall map is short. There's coffee on Main Street, dogs on the beach at the bottom of Sea Street, and The Rooftop and the November shows at 14 Sea Street. The Taste of Dennis on Oct. 21 brings restaurants from the rest of town to that same street.
